Air Ion Technologies is the UK's longest-established manufacturer of air ionisation equipment: personal ionisers, commercial ionisers, air processors (an ioniser with air filtration) and ion measurement instruments. in 1969 the company patented a technique for the generation of ozone-free ions, which continues to be a fundamental feature of all its products.

Air processors are self-contained recirculating units primarily for business, hospital and industrial workplaces and can be used whether or not air conditioners are in use. Air conditioners regulate temperature and humidity but, as a rule, only provide minimal filtration and also deplete negative ions. In air conditioned areas there is generally a pressing need to replenish the depleted air ions and to provide a higher degree of air filtration.
